The GCS Vision
Genetic Counselling Services is an institute working in the spirit of Professor W.K.
Hirschfeld, who felt that animal health research should be brought
closer to the practice of dog breeding, and that bridges should be
built between science and the canine fancy. GCS continues and expands
this tradition by rendering relevant scientific insights
applicable in the actual practice of breeding and keeping companion
animals. The Institute does not restrict its services to (purebred) dog
breeds; its activities extend to the broad variety of animal species
commonly kept and bred by hobbyists.
