Testing for CSNB

Note:

In dogs, as in other species, we find more hereditary disorders with phenotypic effects that are comparable to those of CSNB. Night blindness can result from a wide range of defects with as many different genetic causes. In other breeds, or even in Briard, different mutant genes may cause comparable phenotypic effects causing disorders like CSNB. Scientists are searching for the hereditary causes of CSNB-like defects in dogs and in other species.
